New Promoter General of the Dominican Priestly Fraternities

The Master of the Order, Brother Gerard Francisco Timoner III, OP, has appointed Brother Raúl Gómez Sánchez, OP, as the new Promoter General of the Dominican Priestly Fraternities on 24 June 2025.
He succeeds Brother Florentino Bolo, OP, who had been working closely with this branch of the Dominican Family since 2010 and has served as General Promoter of the Priestly Fraternities since 2016.
Br. Raúl is a member of the Province of St. Louis Bertrand in Colombia. He made his first profession in 2011 and his solemn profession in 2016. He was ordained a deacon on December 2, 2017, and a priest on April 6, 2019. He studied philosophy and theology at the Santo Tomás University in Bogotá, and earned a licentiate and Master’s degree in Theology from the Javeriana University in Bogotá.
In his province, he has carried out various ministries, including: Vicar for Religious in the Diocese of Riohacha, La Guajira; Parochial Vicar at the Parish of Jesús Buen Samaritano in Soacha; Provincial Promoter of the Dominican Family; and Socius to the Master of Students. He has also previously accompanied the initial formation process of the first Dominican Priestly Fraternity in Latin America, working with diocesan priests from several countries in the region.
Since November 9, 2023, he has been serving as Secretary General of the Order.
We sincerely thank Br. Florentino for the tireless work he has done to promote and raise awareness—even within the Order—of this particular way of belonging to the Dominican Family.
